Volume Change

Overview

The Volume Change tool will adjust the volume of the socket globally or locally, using slices. This can be used to reduce the volume over all or set circumferences at specific locations.

Tool Structure

Utility Bar

Add Slice

Add a slice on the model. The tool is active when the plus sign is blue and slices can be placed or moved by left clicking on the model.

Distributed Slices

Add Slices to the model at a set interval.

Select Mode

Circumference

  • Units: percent, ply, or mm
  • Changing the volume by circumference, either globally or locally by slice.

Posterior Only

  • Units: mm or percent
  • Adjusting the volume of only the posterior side of the model, starting at the media-lateral line and going posteriorly

Reset

Reset all Volume Changes, undoing what was done while the tool was open, or Reset to the Fit Suggestions.

Tool Body

Slice Position in Relation to

 

Slice (1, 2, 3, etc.)

Type in the box to customize the slice name. Type a number to adjust the distance from the related position. The slices can also be moved by activating them, a white outline will appear around the tool, and left clicking on another location on the limb.

Volume Change Slider Bar

Use the slider bar or type in the box to change the volume.

How to Use

Global Volume Change:

  1. Open the tool and select desired mode and units.
  1. Use the slider bar or type in the box to adjust the volume.

      You can use the Measurements in the Utility Tools to check the socket size as you modify.

Local Volume Change:

  1. Open the tool and select desired mode and units.
  1. Apply slices onto the limb.
    1. Use the single plus button to add slices manually by left clicking on the limb while the tool is open.
    2. Use the distributed slide tool to apply slices at a set interval. Set the Step Size and Unit to apply. The are are two ways to change the location of the slices. The first is by selecting the slice tool and left clicking on the limb. The second is by choosing the landmark the slice position is in relation to (IT, GT, MST, Top and Bottom) and changing the distance next to the Slice name.
    3. Slices can be removed by clicking on the garbage can.
  1. Use the slider bar or type in the box to adjust the volume.
